About me.

I am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC), considered the most rigorous and respected designation in the coaching industry. I was trained through the Co-Active Training Institute which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation. I work with clients from a wide variety of professional and personal backgrounds.

When I decided to retire from my 35-year career in healthcare quality improvement and patient safety, I needed an off ramp. I loved my work, yet I was yearning for something else. Prior to healthcare, I taught high school English in Hong Kong, wrote for a small-town newspaper, and worked in development and fundraising for a non-profit. I loved to teach, mentor, facilitate, train and lead teams and individuals. But I couldn’t figure out how to translate that into my next act. All I could come up with was to go back into the classroom and teach.

It filled me with dread.

Then a friend referred me to a professional, co-active coach, and I jumped at the chance. Within the first few sessions, I felt like a snow globe that had been shaken up. Snow flakes that had been dormant for so long started swirling around me. I had no idea how they were going to land, but I knew something transformative was about to happen. All of a sudden, there were endless possibilities available to me outside of teaching. Of those, I discovered that my values, skills and passions were perfectly aligned with becoming a coach.

Following two years of training, hundreds of hours coaching clients, and earning my certification as a co-active coach, I have come to love this work and the opportunity to share it with others!

About you.

Here’s the deal. There are a lot of great coaches out there. Deciding who’s right for you is as much about a coach’s technique, training and approach as it is about personal choice. There has to be resonance between you and the person you entrust to take you on what could be your most important journey.

Don’t take my word for it…see for yourself!

I offer a free, 30-minute sample session to anyone curious about coaching. There’s no obligation to go further if it’s not a fit. If, on the other hand, you’re intrigued and excited about working with me, we’ll set up subsequent coaching sessions as outlined in the “Options” section above.

I adhere to the strictest standards of confidentiality. The fact that I coach you, and everything we discuss is confidential and stays between you and me. You, on the other hand, can share as much or as little about your coaching experience with anyone you’d like!

What my clients say about me:

  • It was during a time that I was looking to change my career, and Alex helped me bring focus to what was important to me — as a person and as a career. She asked the right questions and allowed the two to merge together in perfect harmony. It set me on my path to a happier me. —E.O. (Author)

  • At midlife and navigating Empty Nest, I’m not gonna lie: I went a little haywire. Masters in fiction? Move to Norway? Go off the grid and live off the land? Run for political office? Without giving away the story’s ending, I’ll just say that Alex — with her empathy, insight, and keen coaching skills — helped me sort it out. I’m forever grateful! —K.C. (age 60 and feeling good about it all)

  • “Working with Alex has been a life-changing experience for me. Burnout in healthcare is real, and finding a channel to forge a new path is scary. Alex helped me realize how important it is to understand your values and your passions, and she paved the way for how I could reconnect with them. I am stronger, my path is clearer, and I would not hesitate to reach out again if I feel a little off track.” — T. T. (Healthcare Administrator)

  • Coaching for me has been all about the questions that allow you to look deeply within and explore places you’ve never been before. Alex has them all, and they helped me grow and blossom to achieve things that had previously felt beyond my reach. —L.H-B (Entrepreneur)
